Motorsport has been one of my rabbit holes for years. It’s still sitting in my Resources. This is what finally came out of it.
A local-first Formula 1 timing wall, built with Python, FastAPI, React and WebSockets. It turns the public F1 timing stream into a dense race console: leaderboard, gaps, intervals, best and last laps, tyres, sectors and mini-sectors, weather, Race Control, team radio, live championship projection, and circuit-specific historical context.
It is deliberately honest about its data. Demo, replay, delayed display, stale feed, unavailable source and live race are all visibly different states. It never presents synthetic timing as live.
